Why? Good questions....why are we going to pay a ridiculous amount of money to go to Iowa for three days from Colombia, to sit in an overpriced stinky hotel room and be stressed out the whole time? Because we need a job...one that pays well so we can follow through with our retirement plan.
In February we will be flying to Iowa to attend an international Job Fair. We will be stressed the whole time interviewing and hoping to find a job.
We have officially decided to leave Colombia. Although it has been a good experience and I would love to master the language there are many reasons we are leaving. The most important being that we want to take this opportunity while we are childless to go to the Middle or Far East to save some money. The second is that I am 100% over the city. I don't think I am a city person in general but the traffic, the commute and the lack of things to do other than drink and eat is getting to me. Granted we will most likely be in another city but at least it will be NEW. Lastly, we have traveled a lot in this country and have fully explored the culture and we are ready to explore a new place. With that said it will be sad to leave a great school and some great friends and neighbors…but we are kind of use to such moves.
We are determined to get a job, plow through a possibly trying two years in order to get ahead and relax. Hopefully we will find one but if not maybe we could stay here again or come home…but we are not thinking that way. Keep your fingers crossed and please give us any advice about where you think we should go.
