Because of our typical communication breakdowns due to the culture and the language differences we went to bed on Friday night packed and with no plan for the morning. Yet amazingly it worked out...even though we left way late for our standards. Our friend just happened to have a friend who use to be a guide in the area and wanted to go up with us. Which solved our major problem of finding a guide that would let us camp.
Just like many things in this country a bit of corruption was involved, camping is prohibited but if you pay this one guy 1.50 per person he'll let you slide but you can't tell the other people and so on and so on. Kind of confusing but I don't worry about stuff like that here, nothing would ever come from the fact that we had a fire but fires are not officially allowed......just go with the flow.
We hiked four hours up an amazingly steep trail, camped at the top, saw the sun set over Cali and the Farrallones and then woke early to see it rise. A awesome group and some great views.
Tired legs and good memories....glad we did it.
