Intrinsic rewards only look good on paper....

WhenI was young and idealistic....(okay like last year) I thought..... I will not be the type of teacher to give away candy and bribe kids with extrensic rewards. I had all kinds of moral back up for these beliefs and then came the reality of having my own classroom ....well I've probably already spent like 50 bucks on candy, I have taken my kids to the movie and now for their latest reward....POOL PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much forr ideals, I need these kids to be motivated to behave so give me a carrot and I will hang it infront of their faces.....plus I must say I enjoyed spending my Friday afternoon in the pool!
